The film crew of "The Dress" is a large group of extremely talented people. Its director and screenwriter is Tadeusz Łysiak. The film was produced by the Chancellor of the Warsaw Film School – Dr Maciej Ślesicki, and the artistic supervision over the project was provided by our Lecturer – Wojciech Saramonowicz. We'd like to congratulate everyone involved in the production!
We would also like to congratulate the entire fantastic cast, headed by Anna Dzieduszycka – starring as Julia – a natural talent that enchants "The Dress" viewers all over the world – and the professional acotors who partner her – above all Dorota Pomykała and Szymon Piotr Warszawski.

"The Dress" has toured prestigious festivals around the world. Since its premiere in Krakow, it has travelled among others to Moscow, Karlovy Vary, Odensee, and Bengaluru. Although the Creators, due to the pandemic, could not always accompany their movie, it perfectly defended itself in front of the audience and the jury. Our short came back from that trip with a whole bunch of awards and accolades – including the BEST NARRATIVE SHORT award at the Atlanta Film Festival, which now gives it a growing chance to travel to Los Angeles!

This is undoubtedly our students' biggest success since the 2015 Academy Awards® nomination for the documentary "Our Curse" (directed by Tomasz Śliwiński).
The Warsaw Film School had a lot of triumphs this passing year! We won the Gdynia Film Festival and Camerimage. We produced our first feature movie, "The Land", which recently hit Netflix after its theatrical release, and now we're finishing 2021 with hopes for an even better 2022!
Thank you to The Academy® for noticing our film and Julka's story!

THE DRESS
Julia lives in the Polish countryside. Her music is death metal. Her favorite pastime: playing on slot machines. She works at a wayside motel for drivers. She’s lonely, she never had a man, never experienced physicality. Julia is short stature and her entire life is dictated by her height – the local community can’t seem to accept her different appearance. Everything changes, when she crosses paths with a handsome truck driver. Their eyes meet. Julia’s heart beats faster. The man soon becomes the object of her loving, almost erotic obsession...
