The Main Prize at the "Long Story Short" Festival in the "Feature Short Film" category went to "The Dress" directed by Tadeusz Łysiak. Our film also received an Award of the President of Wrocław. This is the second consecutive victory for a Warsaw Film School production at the Wrocław festival. Last year's edition in the "Documentary" category was won by Krzysztof Wołżański's film "And We'll Be Happy Again". The festival is organised by the Dolnośląskie Centrum Filmowe.

The winning films were selected by a jury consisting of: Weronika Bilska (cinematographer), Natalia Grzegorzek (film producer), Konrad Imiela (actor, theater director, musician, songwriter and director of the Capitol Musical Theater), Agnieszka Kruk (script development expert, screenwriter, educator), Jarek Perduta (originator of the Long Story Short Festival, director of the Dolnośląskie Centrum Filmowe, culture manager) and Filip Marek Zawada (writer, musician, a photographer, and a potato-drawer).
Jury statement about "The Dress" announced by Natalia Grzegorzek:
– This film captivated us with a believable depicted world, great acting and a story that flows. The director knew what he wanted to say and he did it convincingly.
The author of the winning film was awarded the "Salamander" statuette and a cash prize of 3,000 zlotys.
The film "The Dress" was also awarded the special prize of the President of Wrocław Jacek Sutryk – a cheque for 3,000 zlotys and a graphic work of the Wrocław graphic artist Tomasz Tylkowski.
– It is an extraordinary film and the best in terms of the coherence of image, dialogue, light, sound and the way the film narration is conducted." – saysWanda Ziembicka-Has from the chapter of the President's Award.
From June 14 to 19, the festival moves to the Internet. Online screenings will take place at www.shortfestival.pl. During these days, viewers will choose the Audience Award by voting.

The win at the Long Story Short continues string of successes for the film "The Dress". Our short has been awarded at many prestigious festivals in Poland and abroad. Winning this year's Atlanta Film Festival, a qualifying event for the Academy Awards, gave the Warsaw Film School production the opportunity to take part in next year's Oscar race.

Tadeusz Łysiak – born in 1993, graduate of Cultural Studies at the University of Warsaw, student of Directing at the Warsaw Film School. Creator of two award-winning short films in Poland and abroad: "Techno" (starring Leszek Abrahamowicz, Danuta Stenka, Michalina Olszańska) and "The Dress" (Anna Dzieduszycka, Dorota Pomykała, Szymon Piotr Warszawski). Participant of the prestigious program FUTURE FRAMES - Generation NEXT of European Cinema within Eastern Promises at the Karlovy Vary Festival. Winner of the "Discovering Eye" award for young talented filmmaker at the Polish Film Festival in Chicago.
