From Bielsko-Biała to Cannes – Triumph of the B98 Team!
Zespół filmowy B98, który składa się z absolwentów i studentów naszej Szkoły, ma za sobą rok przepełniony sukcesami!
After winning the Bielsko edition of the 48 Hour Film Project in June 2024 with their film "Chemia", their journey quickly gained international momentum.
A few months later, the team took part in an additional competition for winners and finalists of local editions – Yes We Cannes – creating a new production titled "Food Chain".
Out of around 150 films, only 20 qualified for the finals of 48HFP - Filmapalooza in Seattle. Among them was "Food Chain" – and it was this very film that won the most prestigious awards of the entire event:
- Best Film
- Best Directing
- Best Cinematography
The team also received a cash prize of $2,000.
But this is not the end of the story! "Food Chain" will be screened in May 2025 at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival, one of the most important industry events in Europe.
This is a huge opportunity to showcase their work to an international audience – including producers, distributors, and representatives of the world’s biggest film events.
We Francji film będą reprezentować: Ivan Krupenikov (reżyser), Aleksandra Sochacka (aktorka), Dima Zinych (autor zdjęć) oraz Zofia Ziółkowska (kierowniczka produkcji).
Pokaźny budżet, wiele dni zdjęciowych i miesiące preprodukcji? Wychowankowie Warszawskiej Szkoły Filmowej udowodnili, że nie potrzebują żadnej z tych rzeczy, by podbić Stany Zjednoczone i Cannes. Czasem wystarczy pomysł, zgrana ekipa i… 48 godzin.
In France, the film will be represented by:
Ivan Krupenikov (director), Aleksandra Sochacka (actress), Dima Zinych (cinematographer), and Zofia Ziółkowska (production manager).
A big budget, multiple shooting days, and months of pre-production? The graduates of the Warsaw Film School have proven they don’t need any of that to conquer the United States and Cannes. Sometimes all it takes is a good idea, a tight-knit team, and… 48 hours.
