"Something" in the Splat!FilmFest selection
Short thriller "Something" directed by our graduate, Katarzyna Babicz, with cinematography by Dominik Granaas, also our graduate, made it to the official selection of Splat!FilmFest – the biggest genre film festival in Poland.
Splat!FilmFest – International Fantastic Film Festival is a member of the prestigious The Méliès International Festivals Federation (formerly European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation). The mission of the festival is to present dark, crazy, wild and beautiful cinema. The core of the program are premieres of the world's best genre films (including horror movies, thrillers, dark dramas, black comedies, sci-fi, fantasy), which cannot be seen at any other festival in Poland and which have not yet had cinema distribution in our country. It is worth mentioning that Splat! was named by the American MOVIE MAKER magazine as one of the 25 best genre film festivals in the world.
"Something" is the third title from that film genre in the output of Katarzyna Babicz, which qualified for this unique event. At the Splat! have already been presented films: "Inapettence", about a girl who starts to turn into a monster under the influence of a weight-loss drug, and "Attachment", Katarzyna's graduation film, about entering into a new relationship and the fear of commitment. The latest qualification of our graduate confirms that the director feels perfectly comfortable in this kind of films.
