Two films of the Warsaw Film School in the competition at the upcoming Świdnica Film Festival SPEKTRUM
"Good, Elegant Boys" and "We Are Not Friends" qualified for the international competition of short films "The Young Perspective" of the 7th edition of the Świdnica Film Festival SPEKTRUM. The event will take place from October 24-30.

Since its first editions, the Świdnica Film Festival SPEKTRUM has focused on a clear and strong message, both through programme selection and visual communication. It is a festival open to the world, but with the soul of Świdnica, focusing on local character and a spectrum of personal experiences and reflections accompanying the experience of cinema. The event is organized by the Wrocławska Fundacja Filmowa and the Świdnicki Ośrodek Kultury. It is also financed by the City of Świdnica.
This year's edition will be held under the motto: "We want to touch you" – 'It's a love letter of the cinema to the audience, because empty cinema halls miss you as much as you miss them' - says Paweł Korsuń, the originator and Director of the festival.
The new visual identitfication of ŚFFS using Łukasz Wierzbowski's photography was created in cooperation with the festival's long-term partner, Bękarty graphic studio.
SPEKTRUM includes two full-length film competitions and the short film section "The Youth Perspective", divided into the following categories: short fiction, documentary, animation, and amateur competition.
The Warsaw Film School will take part in "The Youth Perspective" competition in short fiction category with the film "Good, Elegant Boys" and in the documentary category with the film "We Are Not Friends". Check out our competition entries below!

GOOD, ELEGANT BOYS

It's a film that has taken part in such events as the WAMA Film Festival, the Młodzi i Film in Koszalin, the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market, as well as last year's 45th Gdynia Film Festival. The title recently won an award at the 24FPS International Animation Awards of MAAC in India.
It's 2022. Deep in the Bieszczady mountains a survival camp for scouts is in progress. The boys spend their days pretending to take part in World War II. One day they meet a detachment of Ukrainian subversive soldiers. The real war is coming.

Similarly to Marek Ulan-Szymański's film, the documentary was presented in Clermont-Ferrand and in Koszalin (Młodzi i Film). It also took part in the following festivals: Demakijaż, Two Riversides, Long Story Short, and Węgiel Film Festival – from the latter of which it brought home the award for Best Polish Film. It is worth mentioning that another short film by its director – "My Brother Fisherman" – won this year's Grand Prix and an award for the best cinematography at the 46th Gdynia Film Festival.
Two women joined together by their prison sentences, find comfort in each other. They are almost inseparable. Every Friday they broadcast on the prison radio.
