Inauguration of the academic year
The official Inauguration of the academic year 2021/2022, which took place on October 1st in Kino Elektronik, is behind us!
Apart from the traditional, inspiring speeches by the Rector of Warsaw Film School – Prof. Janusz Majewski – and the Chancellor of WSF – Dr. Maciej Ślesicki – the students also had the opportunity to meet the "culprits" of the recent unprecedented success of the School.
Alicja Sokół (Grand Prix in the Short Film Competition at the 46th Gdynia Film Festival for the film "My Brother a Fisherman"), Bartosz Brzeziński (Special Prize for the film "The Howling"), Magdalena Gajewska (two Sponsors Awards and a Special Mention for the Best Actresses for the film "The Cracks") and Kajetan Falkowski (Best Cinematography Award for the film "My a Brother Fisherman") also addressed some important words to the freshmen and some motivational sentences.
Our winners were partnered on stage by the artistic supervisor of three out of the four qualified films, our Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr Barbara Pawłowska. A surprise was the presence of the Artistic Director of the festival in Gdynia, Mr. Tomasz Kolankiewicz, who spared no warm words for our talented artists.
After the official part, the students had the opportunity to watch the first full-length production of the Warsaw Film School – film kRAJ. The screening was accompanied by a Q&A panel with our talented Alumni who worked on the set of the production.
Thank you for your presence and we wish you a productive academic year 2021/2022!
