"The Dress" at another Oscar qualifying festival!
"The Dress," a film directed by Tadeusz Lysiak, has qualified for the LA Shorts International Film Festival, another festival that qualifies for the Academy Awards. 25. the jubilee edition of the event will be held from 1 to 31 July.
LA Shorts International Film Festival ranks among the most prestigious and largest international short film festivals in the world.
The festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Oscar®, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts BAFTA, and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television ACCT Canadian Screen Awards. 60 LA Shorts filmmakers have earned Academy Award® nominations, with 16 taking home the Oscar.
Now in its 25th year, LA Shorts is the longest-running short film festival in Los Angeles. The festival screens over 300 films and attracts 10,000 attendees each year including Hollywood industry professionals and emerging undiscovered independent filmmakers.
The film programming screens all genres from a wide spectrum of categories with high to low budget films under 50 minutes. From recognizable directors and celebrity actors to students from the finest film schools and high school teenagers.

LA Shorts won't be the first Academy Awards qualifying event at which "The Dress" will be screened. Moreover, the film has already won at 3 such festivals. A recent win at this year's Atlanta Film Festival gave the Warsaw Film School production the opportunity to enter next year's Oscar race.

Tadeusz Łysiak – born in 1993, graduate of Cultural Studies at the University of Warsaw, student of Directing at the Warsaw Film School. Creator of two award-winning short films in Poland and abroad: "Techno" (starring Leszek Abrahamowicz, Danuta Stenka, Michalina Olszańska) and "The Dress" (Anna Dzieduszycka, Dorota Pomykała, Szymon Piotr Warszawski). Participant of the prestigious program FUTURE FRAMES - Generation NEXT of European Cinema within Eastern Promises at the Karlovy Vary Festival. Winner of the "Discovering Eye" award for young talented filmmaker at the Polish Film Festival in Chicago.
