"My Old Gals" & "Yura" in the official selection of the Oscar-qualifying festival!
The hit of Polish festivals – "My Old Gals" – and the production just entering its festival path – "Yura" – will take part in Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival. This event qualifies for the Oscars, BAFTAs and for the Canadian Screen Awards. This year's edition of the festival will be held on August 7 - 13 in Providence, USA.
Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) is recognized as one of the best festivals in the United States. It is among only 10 film festivals that qualifies for the Oscars, BAFTAs and for the Canadian Screen Awards at the same time.
It is worth noting that three years ago the star of our Oscar-nominated film "The Dress", Anna Dzieduszycka, received the Grand Prize – Best Actress.

At this year's RIIFF in the official selection will compete our film "My Old Gals" directed by Natasza Parzymies, with cinematography by Ignacy Kiełczewski, which has recently conquered many Polish festivals. "My Old Gals" is a story of two mature women who fight for their love, told with tenderness and with good comedic feel. The screening in the US will be the film's international premiere.

One of the latest productions of the Warsaw Film School – "Yura" – directed by Vladyslav Deva will also compete at RIIFF for awards. This moving short shows a different, less visible to the average viewer perspective of the war in Ukraine. The Polish premiere of the film will take place at the upcoming Kameralne Lato festival in Radom, where the short will compete for the Platinum Archer Award in the International Short Film Competition.
Congratulations to both film crews! We're keeping our fingers crossed for your successes overseas!
Below you will find logline and the list of the film crew of our qualified production.
