„My Old Gals” will premiere as part of the International Short Film Competition at the Krakow Film Festival!
During the 63rd edition of the Krakow Film Festival, for the first time in the history of our School, we will compete for the Golden and Silver Dragons in the International Short Film Competition! Our trailblazer will be the film „My Old Gals” directed by Natasza Parzymies, with cinematography by Ignacy Kiełczewski for whom this is a diploma film.

The Krakow Film Festival is one of the oldest film events in the world, dedicated to documentaries, animated films and short fiction. It belongs to the group of accredited festivals, among others by the International Federation of Film Producers (FIAPF), the European Film Academy (EFA) and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). It is the only festival in Poland qualifying for an Oscar in the category of feature-length documentaries and as one of two Polish festivals in the category of short films. The Krakow Film Festival is also among the prestigious group of festivals recommending short films and full-length documentaries for the European Film Award.
Qualification for the International Competition is an extraordinary distinction for our creators. The script of the story about the love of two mature women was created by the director in cooperation with Alicja Sokół, with whom she has already worked, among others, on the audio series „Random” and on the international megahit – the online series „Control” (over 70 million viewers on YouTube). It is worth noting that seasons 2-4 of the production were created in cooperation with the VOD TVN service - player.pl; and the production is the only Polish series available on the Discovery platform.

Viewers and media representatives who have already had the opportunity to watch „My Old Gals” during the pre-premiere show at the Script Fiesta festival praised it as the Polish answer to the iconic "Thelma & Louise"! 'This story is moving, goes straight to the heart and stays for a long time' we read about the film in Glamour. 'It's tender, touching and – simply – beautiful'. The main roles are played by the Polish stars – Dorota Pomykała and Dorota Stalińska.
Congratulations to our film crew!
Below you will find the logline and the list of the film crew of the short.
