HOW TO APPLY?
In order to join Warsaw Film School please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and attach to your message the following documents:
2. A Motivation Letter addressed to the Rector of Warsaw Film School – prof. Janusz Majewski, describing your educational background, work experience and interests; please include your works/websites/portfolios (it should contain candidate’s name and surname, phone number and e-mail address)
3. A Work Sample (to choose from)
- For film directors and cinematographers:
an AV work of up to 5 minutes (film, music video, montage);
photos (max. 15)
a photo-script (a story about a real or fictional history in the form of 20 numbered a
script accompanied by story board or other visual material showing the idea of film idea.
- For video game designers and producers: a maximum of a 3-page Game Concept Document presenting your idea of a game, including: main concepts and goals of the game, alternatively 3 Unique Selling Points of the game; 3 main game mechanisms, a maximum of 5 secondary mechanisms, a half-page summary of the plot, description of target audience, list of competing game titles, ideas for monetisation, (facultatively) visual references
4. A Digital photo (should meet passport photos requirements; size 300x375 pixels, .jpg file, max. 50 kB)
5. A Copy of your national ID or passport. The image must show your clear face picture and the document number
6. A Copy of your legalised matriculation document (e.g. your secondary school diploma that gives you the right to continue education at Universities)
Please note that all international secondary school diplomas need to be certified with an apostille or legalised in the country where the document is issued, otherwise our School is not authorized to accept it.
Apostille is a stamp or a paper form required for international acceptance of official documents (e.g. certificates and diplomas), regulated by the Hague Convention Abolishing The Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents of 5 October 1961 and can be used in countries which signed up to the convention.
An apostille is issued in the country where the document is produced. The Hague Conference website lists all countries participating in the Apostille Convention here: (https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/authorities1/?cid=41)
Legalisation is an official confirmation that a legal document (e.g. a certificate or diploma) is recognized by a foreign county’s legal system. You should legalise a document if your country is not a member of the Hague Convention. (https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/authorities1/?cid=41)
Legalisation is carried out by a Polish consul in the country where the document originates. Please contact the Polish consulate located in your country for guidance on the legalisation procedure.
The following documents will not need to be legalised or apostilled in accordance with the information provided by The Education Office in Warsaw:
certificates or other documents issued by schools operating in educational systems of EU, OECD or EFTA members, which allow access to higher education institutions in those countries (at present: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Canada, Colmbia, South Korea, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Mexico, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, USA, Hungary, Great Britain, Italy).
IB diplomas (International Baccalaureate) issued by International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva
EB diplomas (European Baccalaureate) issued by European Schools in accordance with the Convention drawn up in Luxembourg on 21 June 1994;
certificates issued in countries with which Poland has signed bilateral agreements concerning the recognition of education (certificates issued under the agreements which expired will still be recognized on the basis of those agreements).
* If the international agreements do not provide otherwise, a certificate issued abroad can be recognised by means of an administrative decision as a document confirming the following levels of education in Poland: primary, lower secondary, upper secondary, basic vocational or the right to continue education, including the right to continue education at higher education institutions taking into consideration the scope of rights appertaining.
*If the international agreements does not provide otherwise, a certificate issued abroad shall be recognised by Kuratorium Oświaty in Warsaw. Please read the information:

5. A COPY of a certified translation of your matriculation document with grades
Documents not in Polish must be translated either by:
- a Polish sworn translator, or
- a sworn translator registered in any of EU, EFTA or OECD country
- a Polish consul in the country where the certificate was issued
- an embassy or consulate of the country which issued the certificate or in which educational system the school operates located on the territory of Poland
6. For non-native English speakers: DOCUMENTATION of English language proficiency, level B2 or higher: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 72 / Cambridge FCE (grade A or B)

Upon receiving your application we will contact you to schedule an interview – at the School or online.
All documents are required to be in pdf format.
Once you have submitted your application form, the confirmation of your application payment and all the necessary documents listed on our website, you will be contacted by the School to schedule an interview date. Interviews take place in person or via MS Teams.
The interview is usually hosted by one of our film directing professors, Mr. Marek Brodzki and a specialist in recruitment and international cooperation, Ms. Aleksandra Toruński. At the interview we will discuss your film inspirations, provided work samples as well as your knowledge of cinematography and story telling. All interviews are held in English.
You are required to pay an enrollment fee (non-refundable) of EUR 1000 within 14 days after your recruitment interview has been accepted. You will then receive a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies to submit with your visa application.
ANNUAL TUITION FEE
Before the beginning of an academic year you will need to sign The Contract of Educational Service.
You will also be asked to fill out and sign your Contract and hand it to the School along with the required original documents.

Enrollment fee: 1000 EUR
Tuition: 6000 EUR per academic year (1 installment), 6500 EUR per academic year (2 installments)
Warsaw Film School is a non-public film school which specialises in industry training. We do not follow the same financing system as public higher education institutions.
International students are able to seek for financial aid for studying overseas from their home government.
Our second and third-year students will have an opportunity to apply for the Chancellor’s Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded for academic achievements, involvement in school activities, creativity and leadership.
Scholarships are renewed each semester.
VISA – Study Permit
If you are a student from a non-EU country admitted to Warsaw Film School, you will need to apply for a D-type Visa (a long-term national visa national issued for up to one year). For more information: https://study.gov.pl/visa-application
The list of required documents when applying for a D-type visa:
- A travel document (passport document);
- A filled out and signed visa application (https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/);
- A valid photograph (biometric);
- A proof of visa payment;
- A medical travel insurance whose coverage amounts to not less than EUR 30,000, and covering all expenses that may arise in connection with the need to return for medical reasons, a medical emergency, urgent hospitalisation or death, or medical insurance within the meaning of Polish regulations on health care benefits financed out of public funds;
-A document confirming the purpose of travel and conditions of stay;
-A document confirming possession of adequate financial resources to cover the costs of living during the planned stay and to cover the costs of return to the country of origin or residence, or to cover the costs of transit to a third country, which will certainly give permission for entry, or documents confirming that the applicant can legally obtain such funds;
-A document that permits to assess that the applicant will leave the territory of the Republic of Poland before the visa expires;
-Other documents that confirm other circumstances referred to in the visa application.
Supporting documents may be different depending on the country where a visa application is submitted.
