Katarzyna Babicz became the best director for her film "On the Web" and "The Woodkin" by Mateusz Motyka received the Best Student Film award.

SHORT to the Point is an international platform for the distribution and promotion of short films. It has existed since 2009 and there have been many remarkable and award-winning shorts from around the world under the wings of the festival. Now two films from the Warsaw Film School are joining this group.


Kasia Babicz is a third year student of movie directing at Warsaw Film School. Her debut was a short movie drama called "Daddy" (starring Cezary Pazura) about a difficult relationhip between a 12 year old girl and her father addicted to alcohol.
Her short body horror "Inappetence" (2017) had its premiere at polish Splat!FilmFest horror festival this year. It shows the maddnes of anorexia.
"On the web" is her first movie sent to Berlinale competition. She is 27 years old.

Mateusz Motyka - Born in Beskids, Poland in 1992. He studied Victorian and American literature at the University of Tromsø. Graduated in translation studies. Since then he works as an illustrator and an animator. In 2015 started Film and Screen Media studies at Warsaw Film School. His first short film 'Raspberries' received The Best Polish Student Short award at the Manchester International Short Film Festival in 2017.
