Following last year's success of WFS production "August", which won director Tomek Ślesicki Best Live Action Short 15 Minutes Or Under Awards and Special Mention For Exceptional Cinematography at Palm Springs ShortFest, "Toast" is screening at the California fest this week.
Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films lasts 7 days and screens more than 350 short films every year. It is one of the AMPAS qualifying festivals, and has thus far hosted 97 short films that went on to secure Oscar nominations in the short film categories.
Following his debut short "Tropical Island", director Filip Hillesland examines the complexities of adulthood, through the story of a young man finding out he is infertile shortly before his wedding. "Toast" was written by Hillesland and editor Malwina Wodzicka, and shot by WFS student Michał Wroński.
