The story of a young hospital worker who befriends a patient awaiting an abortion procedure, took the main prize in the school films category at the 40th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.
"I would like to thank [the d.o.p.] Wojtek Węgrzyn, our producer Maciej Ślesicki, and my school", said Paweł Hejbudzki from the awards stage. Congratulations to Paweł, Wojtek, lead actor Adam Bobik and the rest of cats and crew!
In the main competition, the Silver Lions went to the Rector of WFS, Janusz Majewski, for his „The Eccentrics. The Sunny Side of the Street” a tender story of post-war Poland and a love of music.
Gdynia Film Festival is the biggest annual gathering of Polish film industry, attracting over 40 000 guests each year. Young Cinema Competition presents short and graduation feature films of the Polish film schools' students, an insight into who will shape the industry in years to come.
